An edition of History's ancient legacies II (2001)

History's ancient legacies II

[Vol. 5-6] : Romans in Europe ; Romans in Palestine

Forms part of a series that introduces ancient civilizations through 3D animation sequences which reconstruct ancient scenes, current location footage, and authoritative commentary and analysis. Focuses on architectural monuments and ruins while providing insight into ancient history and the daily lives of ancient people. Vol. 5 tells the story of the villas, forts, roads and temples which stand today as a reminder of the all-conquering Roman legions which marched through Northern Europe. Examines the culture of the Romans' opponents, the Germanic tribes, the Gauls, the Britons, and other Celts.

Vol. 6 reviews the history of Palestine and its invaders from the time of Alexander the Great through the Roman Empire and examines the ongoing Jewish resistance to foreign rule and foreign religions.
