"The progenitor of the Drummond family to be discussed in this book is James Drummond. He spent most of his life in Auchtermuchty, Fife, Scotland. This James Drummond will henceforth be referred to either as James Drummond Sr. or #1James. The first recorded information on James Sr. occurs in the Auchtermuchty Parish Marriage Records which state: James Drummond, 10 March 1811 to C. Cation, price; 2/3d His wife, Cecelia, was born in Auchtermuchty on the 10th of March, 1787, to John Cation and his spouse Helen Elder."
