Edition Notes

Equations #39 on P.F.S. Post was added in May 2024 as a palimpsest over something else which had been placed there in 2023. #39 was added to the book in 2023 and made it into the PennSound edition of the book, which appeared in 2023. The Goths were a subcultural phenomenon in the 90s and early Aughts in America. Hope, in the piece, is modeled on Amanda (Mandee) Ferrier, who was attending PSU as of fall 1995, when the piece takes place.

Work Description

Equations, by American poet Adam Fieled, is a voyage in prose into expressed sexuality and human relationships, in dialectic form. It was originally released in print by Blue & Yellow Dog Press in 2011; the second print edition, also from Blue & Yellow Dog Press, appeared in 2018. In 2021-23, nine Equations were added to the thesis portion of the book, and the 2023 edition placed in its entirety on PennSound.
