Feast or Famine takes as its subject matter American painter Abby Heller-Burnham. Mary, in the piece, is Mary Evelyn Harju.

Zabar's is a large gourmet delicatessen on the Upper West Side of Manhattan, where Abby Heller-Burnham was raised. It is often used for catering purposes.

PAFA is Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts (in Center City Philadelphia), attended by both Abby Heller-Burnham and Mary Evelyn Harju.

The nights spent together by the author, Heller-Burnham, and Harju tended to be either in Logan Square, Philadelphia, where Adam Fieled lived, or West Philadelphia, where Harju lived.

Work Description

Something Solid is a triptych of sonnets and double sonnets by American writer Adam Fieled. It explores the author's life in the Nineties and in Aughts Philadelphia, and up to the present day. Portions have appeared in Otoliths, The Argotist Online, Argotist Online Poetry, Monday Journal, The Seattle Star, PennSound, Synchronized Chaos, Ink Pantry, The Helios Mss, P.F.S. Post, and elsewhere. The book is comprised of: The Nineties, Aughts Philly, and Miscellaneous Sonnets.
