"From a kinetic point of view when a given substance is introduced into an organism, that substance will enter the system, be absorbed, and then be distributed to various parts of the system (for example, to organs, tissues, cells, and subcellular structures). Later it may undergo processes of chemical transformation (for example, detoxication), or processes of incorporation into other compounds, or it may be eliminated."
