Podeschi, J.B. Dickens & Dickensiana, B64
Carr, L. VanderPoel Dickens, B599
Grimaldi's original ms. was first altered and revised by Mr. Thomas Egerton Wilks, who sold it to the present publisher. "The present editor ... accepted a proposal from the publisher to edit the book, and has edited it to the best of his ability, altering its form throughout, and making such other alterations as he concieved would improve the narration of the facts without any departure from the facts themselves"--Introductory chapter.
Points of issue for this edition: 1) cloth binding: pink for both volumes (1st issue) or black for v. 1, green for v. 2 (2nd issue); 2) the plate, The last song, has no border (1st issue) or has a border (2nd issue); 3) the leaf "Embellishments" which follows the introductory chapter in v. 1 lists the sixth plate at p. 128 (1st issue) or, correctly, at p. 182 (2nd issue).
All 5 HRC copies have plate, The last song, in 1st issue.
