Edition Notes

Compiled originally by J. B. de Almeida Garrett, author of the preliminary sketch on the language and poetry, and revised by Jose da Fonseca. Cf. Silva's Dic. bibl. port.
Vol. 6 was first published 1834 under title, "Satyricos portuguezes", and included "Os burros; ou, O reinado da sandice". It was followed in the same year by a volume bearing the original title and containing the "Satyras" of N. Tolentino in place of "Os burros." cf. Silva.
