The book is a good quick reference guide as to the 459 men of the Waffen-SS (Armed-SS) and Police units in World War II who earned the coveted military combat decoration: the Knight's Cross (Ritterkreuz) a/k/a Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross (Ritterkreuz des Eisernen Kreuzes). The book has short bios of each man, giving the reader an overview of them and the actions which earned them the award. Photos of the men are also included on the bio pages. The book is detailed and written from a non-political viewpoint.
