In the 19th century Dwight Lyman Moody was the man God used to be the most powerful spiritual voice in North America. He was a common man, but the way God used him was extraordinary. The question that has been asked repeatedly is, Why did God use D.L. Moody? The man most capable of answering that question was his longtime associate and successor, Dr. R.A. Torrey. In his analysis of Moody's ministry Dr. Torrey says: "Power belongs to God. If D.L. Moody had any power, and he had great power, he got it from God. But God does not give his power arbitrarily. It is true that he gives it to whomsoever he will; but he wills to give it on certain conditions, which are clearly revealed in his Word; and D.L. Moody met those conditions, and God made him the most wonderful preacher of his generation." - Back cover.
