Discussion Questions for Something Beautiful:

• What type of community does the girl live in (urban, suburban, or rural)? How do you know?
• What did the girl see in her community that she wanted to change? How did she help to change it? What other changes do you think she might try to make in the future?
• What is something you’d like to change in your community to make it a more beautiful place? How can you help?
• At the end of the story, the mom calls her daughter beautiful. What makes her beautiful? (Not just how she looks— but her personality/spirit and the actions she takes to help others!)
