This book contains a description for each piece of lace that the museum acquired between June 1890 to June 1895. The descriptions are grouped by country of origin of the lace sample, covering Europe as well as Russia and Brazil. The items from each country are then listed alphabetically, according to the item that comprises the lace sample (ex. "Apron", "Boarder for a Sleve").
The descriptions are excellent examples of why a picture is often worth a thousand words. A through knowledge of lace is required in order to visualize the actual item being described. A cursory examination of the book shows that the descriptions are less that one hundered words each, and that the book does not contain any sort of graphics related to the laces that are described.
