Edition Notes
Handwritten copy of letter; not William Lloyd Garrison's handwriting.
William Lloyd Garrison wrote this letter to Effingham Lawrence Capron and his wife Lydia B. Allen Capron. Garrison refers to a very pleasant visit to Uxbridge. The wound in Garrison's leg is very painful. Garrison's remarks about the sanctity of the Sabbath that were printed in the Liberator have resulted in several New England newspapers calling upon Christian abolitionists to denounce the infidel Garrison. A theological student in New Haven regards William L. Garrison as a dangerous member of the community.
