The Yellowhead-Singleton Ditch, an interstate drainage channel, was constructed to drain the Kankakee Swamps in Lake County (IN) and Kankakee County (IL). Some 235 square miles of Indiana drainage was brought into Illinois and passed through the main ditch of the Momence and Yellowhead Towhnships Drainage District No. 1 before entering the Kankakee River.
