English translation of the French version of Jean de Montlyard printed in Paris, 1597 under title: "Traicté paraenetique". The Spanish original, "Tratado paraenetico", attributed in error to José Teixeira and to Antonio Pérez, was probably never published.

I.D. Dralymont is an anagram of Jean de Montlyard, who did the French translation.

This work is, in part, a reply to: Dell'unione del regno di Portugallo / by Geronimo Conestaggio, first printed in Genoa, 1585.
