759 hymns; doxologies numbered 760-766; an appendix containing hymns numbered 767-959 and dismissions and doxologies numbered 960-965.
Prepared by the Hymn book committee by order of the General synod of 1841. It is a slightly revised edition of the hymn book which was the work of a committee appointed by the General synod of 1825 and which appeared in 1828. Dr. S. S. Schmucker was chairman of the committees. An appendix has been added consisting of hymns 767-965 numbered continuously with the old.
