Edition Notes

Tentative place of publication, printer's identity, and editor from Bristol.

Title page includes biblical passage: Mark XII: 29, 30, 31.

P. [ii] blank.

Another edition of 'An attempt to restore scripture forms of worship; or, a friendly dialogue... ' by William Hopkins. The text has been edited by John Disney, who wrote the 'Second dialogue between Eugenius and Theophilus,... '. The alterations made to Hopkins' work, despite the claims of Disney's advertisement to the reader, are not considerable.

"The following friendly Dialogue, with some immaterial alterations is now reprinted from a London copy published in 1784 in which the editor thereof, J.D., made very considerable alterations from the Author's copy ... . The notes signed B. are the present Editor's. February 11th, 1785"--P. [iv].

Perhaps edited by John Beale Bordley.
