Edition Notes

Holograph, signed.

William Lloyd Garrison is pleased to hear that Oliver Johnson is to become a father for the first time. Garrison thanks Johnson "for taking the trouble to revise and supplement your sketch of my life for the new edition of the American Cyclopedia." Garrison still suffers from rheumatism in his knee. He attended the funerals of Charles Lenox Remond and Sarah Moore Grimké. William L. Garrison, Theodore D. Weld, and Lucy Stone spoke at Miss Sarah M. Grinké's obsequies. Garrison sends money for another subscription to the Christian Union.
