The Fall was painted largely in 2007. Adam Fieled posed nude for Mary Evelyn Harju in a studio in the Spring Garden section of North Philadelphia. The Fall was shown at PAFA (Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts) in 2008.

The Fall is also featured on the cover of the pdf Race and Vine.

Work Description

Over the Schuylkill: Aughts Philly Complete offers a comprehensive summary of the work of several groups of young American artists in Philadelphia in the Aughts. These artists constituted the hub of what here is called The Philadelphia Renaissance. Special emphasis is given to The Philly Free School, a nexus of painters, poets, and musicians who worked through the Aughts in Philadelphia.
